At last some sort of action is going to be taken over the delapidated Frank James' Hospital. Or should I say, it is going to be discussed. The plight of the building has been ignored for far too long.
Why were the new owners allowed to let this historic building fall into such disrepair?
Did they run out of money?
Did they spit out their dummies because they couldn't get planning to do what they wanted?
Did they think if they neglected the building long enough then the planning officials would let them do what they wanted, so as to stop the place looking like an eyesore?
The people of East Cowes deserve to know why!
When Dick Turpin committed daylight robbery he wore a mask and was hated by the law of the land. The ferry firms here on the Island however are not only blatant in their practises but also has the support of the law that is supposed to protect the consumer.
The imagination is truly staggered!
I know we like to think of the Island as different from the Mainland. The pace of life is slower, along with being one of the last havens for the red squirrel, we enjoy more beautiful countryside than can be found in most other UK counties. Some have said it is like returning to '50's Britain. Alas I didn't think they meant 1850.
Why have we got raw sewage running in the streets? Our water bills are split into two, the supply of clean and the disposal of dirty water. We were the countrie's guineapigs for water meters, which has no doubt saved Southern Water a fortune as everyone is more water aware and careful how they use it, and yet there's sewage in the street.
How will scrapping my car for a £720 Rover ticket get me to work on time?
